The Bega Valley Busines Forum [Combined Chambers Of Commerce] has formed a Tourism Strategic Planning Steering Committee to review the industry and make recommendations for the formation of a management body for the shires tourism industry which will be implemented for the 2008/09 year. The Steering Committee will be making its report to the BVSBF by the end of August or September following which it will also be reported to Council and the Tourism Industry.
Information regarding the membership of the new SCT body will be released soon, please keep a regular watch on this site, or look for more information in your local newspaper.

The Sea to Snow Journey (16-23 yrs) Entry by application and interview to an incredible landscape and environment learning journey for young people designed to meet requirements of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Three day overnight training camps before the six day Sea to Escarpment and nine dayEscarpment to Snow sections of the journey. Conducted as a sponsored walkathon involving boats, backpacks and bicycles. Funds raised by selected young participants will provide scholarships for future young participants. Sustainable Living and Conservation (16+ yrs) - developed as a partnership with International Student Volunteers - A two week investigation of design for sustainable living with natural and recycled materials. Here, through a series of business projects, the CDEP (Community Development Employment Project) at Wallaga Lake not only shows us about the Koori way of community (which holds many lessons for us all) - but they also engage a path of renewal for their environment.
